History
Nexus was formed in 1999 in Boston, Massachusetts. Our name --
Nexus Environmental Partners -- was chosen because our strength is
working at the intersection of management, policy and legal standards.
The word “partners” recognizes that collaboration of multiple parties
is often involved in generating solutions to challenging problems.
Nexus found its niche in the academic arena where environmental
regulatory challenges and new sustainability initiatives have led to
changes in roles, responsibilities and expectations over the past ten
years. Since 1999, we have provided academic associations, like the
Campus Consortium for Environmental Excellence (C2E2), and colleges and
universities with strategic management, regulatory compliance,
benchmarking, project management and sustainability guidance.
As we approach our 10-year anniversary, Nexus looks ahead to the new
challenges, and the great opportunities, associated with campus efforts
to reduce carbon emissions, integrate compliance and operations into
broader sustainability initiatives, and demonstrate commitments through
audits, assessments and third-party verifications.

Approach
In offering environmental management solutions for colleges and
universities, Nexus provides a balance of technical and regulatory
knowledge with strategic perspective. Our college and university
experience enables us to align projects and initiatives with
institutional and departmental goals.
We are not – and do not espouse to be – your typical engineering,
environmental or sustainability consulting firm. Our combination of
skills and our talents in solving problems within each unique
organizational culture sets us apart.
